Athletic Bilbao defender Andoni Iraola has admitted he has been hugely impressed with their new home ground.
Los Leones play their first match at the new San Mames against Celta Vigo on Monday, and the 31-year-old has given his impressions of the venue.
“We have trained there before,” he told a Press conference. “But it’s going to be much different at night in front of all the fans.
“What struck me is the noise when the fans start to sing. You can really hear it on the pitch.
“Now we have to focus on the game. We have lost control of long parts of the previous games, and that needs to change.
“We can’t give our opponents that sort of mercy. We’re playing at home and we need to set the pace and rhythm.”
