Atletico Madrid could move for former Real Madrid target Wendell, as a replacement for the outgoing Lucas Hernandez.
French international Hernandez's long awaited move to the German side was confirmed earlier this week, and the left back will head to Germany early after being ruled out for the remainder of this season following knee surgery.
The 24 year-old Brazilian has now been rumoured to be attracting the attention of Diego Simeone after an impressive season with Bundesliga side Bayer Leverkusen.
Wendell has been the subject of interest from PSG and Roma in the past, however that now seems to have cooled, with Leverkusen more inclined to sell given their likely failure to qualify for next season's Champions League.
Atletico's main competition for his signature this summer is likely to be from Borussia Dortmund, who are seeking a competition for Portugese international Raphael Guerreiro
