Getafe complete Remy signing

Getafe have completed the loan signing of Loic Remy from Las Palmas until the end of the season, both clubs have confimed.

The Frenchman only joined the islanders from Chelsea last summer and was their top scorer this campaign with six goals in 13 appearances.

However, the 30-year-old does not figure in the plans of new boss Paco Jemez, who hinted at disciplinary problems with the player earlier this month.

The former Newcastle and Chelsea striker has now arrived at the Madrid-based club for the remainder of the campaign, despite Los Amarillos originally not willing to let him leave to a league rival.

Levante and a number of Turkish sides were also interested in Remy’s signature.

Getafe are currently 9th in La Liga, while Las Palmas sit one place off the foot of the table and are five points from safety.
