Victor targets Lega victory

Victor Sanchez del Amo insists Real Betis will set out to defeat Leganes on Monday night and continue their relegation fears.

The Madrid-based side are only three points clear of Sporting Gijon and the relegation zone, with an inferior head-to-head record, with only three matches of the season remaining for them.

Betis are looking to bounce back from two consecutive defeats and give a boost to the survival hopes of Sporting and Deportivo La Coruna.

“We’ve prepared the game as we always do, analysing the rival and we are expecting their best performance for this game,” Sanchez told his pre-match press conference.

“They are team that switches between two different systems, sometimes they play with a 5-4-1 and other with a 4-4-2 but we are ready for both options.

“We know how important this game is due to their position in the table, only three points above the relegation zone. They have to face the game as a final and a unique opportunity or necessity to achieve their target.

“Our target is to win and we are ready for it. It will be a hard game, with many clashes. We need to be at a top fitness level to play this kind of game. We are looking for those things with which we can hurt our opponents.”
