The agent of Real Madrid winger Gareth Bale has described the leaking of details of his transfer from Tottenham Hotspur as ‘disgraceful.’
A website known as Football Leaks on Thursday posted documents relating to the deal between Madrid and Spurs in 2013, revealing the full total Los Blancos will pay for the Wales international to be over €100m.
“There should be an inquiry and an independent investigation,” Jonathan Barnett told the Daily Telegraph.
“I think it’s disgraceful that people can get hold of this sort of stuff. It shows complete disregard for both clubs and the player.”
The Telegraph also note a BBC reporter claiming he was told by Madrid when interviewing Bale not to discuss how much he cost the club.
It’s alleged that Madrid wanted to keep quiet that Bale cost more than Cristiano Ronaldo to preserve the Portuguese’s status as the world’s most expensive player.
Madrid have also reportedly opened talks with Bale about a new five-year contract.
