Everton striker Arouna Kone could be set to return to Levante in the winter transfer window after more than a year on the sidelines.
Kone followed Roberto Martinez from Wigan Athletic to Everton in the summer of 2013 but suffered a serious knee ligament injury only months into his Toffees career.
He hasn’t featured for Everton’s first team since and with Romelu Lukaku and Samuel Eto’o ahead of him in the pecking order, Kone has been linked by the British Press with a return to Les Granotes.
Kone, 31 on Tuesday, spent a season at Ciutat de Valencia, on loan from Sevilla, and scored 17 goals in 39 games before heading to Wigan.
It’s reported that if he can prove his fitness Levante will offer first team football to the Ivory Coast international.
