Two Vitor Roque destinations seemingly ruled out as Barcelona seek deal for Brazilian

Barcelona are currently working on an exit for outcast striker Vitor Roque, as they look to free up space in their salary limit after a €30m move in January. Various stories have emerged about the 19-year-old, but his future remains unclear.

Following early links to Lazio and Porto, Bournemouth and Everton emerged as suitors this week, with the latter reportedly having a bid turned down. Meanwhile it was reported on Wednesday that Sporting CP were in talks for Roque.

His agent Andre Cury has told Record (via MD) in Portugal that the two clubs are not dicussing the forward. Yet Sport not only insist that Barcelona are looking for a permanent exit for Roque rather than a loan, but that the discussions with Sporting are legitimate. The Catalan daily also added Nottingham Forest to his list of suitors.

One may have to be struck off though. Bournemouth have been looking to replace Dominic Solanke, but having just forked out a total package of €47m for Evanilson, it seems unlikely they will be spending big on another striker this transfer window.

Roque’s next destination is a long way from clear, but if Barcelona are hoping to get all of the €30m fee that they spent on him, they may have a tough task. Barcelona will also need to register Roque if they want to loan him out, as due to La Liga rules, players cannot be bought and sold within a year without being registered. With Barcelona struggling to register players as it is, then it would be difficult for them to do so.
