Joshua Guilavogui wants to stay with Atletico Madrid and win his place in the side under Diego Simeone.
The French midfielder ended the season on loan at St. Etienne, the club from which he joined Atletico last summer, after failing to feature regularly for the champions.
Guilavogui suffered an injury in April and is to undergo an intensive course of recovery work in order to prove his fitness to the Coach.
Simeone is said to be considering the options available to replace Tiago, who is expected to join Chelsea when his contract expires.
Gabi, Mario Suarez and Saul are competing with Guilavogui, with Guilavogui showing his determination to stay at Vicente Calderon by sharing a picture of himself in Atletico kit on his Twitter account.
