Juan Carlos Garrido hopes that Wednesday’s Copa del Rey win over Athletic Bilbao will kick his side on in the League.
Ruben Castro’s 42nd minute strike was enough to give the Verdiblancos a 1-0 first leg lead yesterday, and the Coach has claimed that the victory will give them confidence going forward.
“This win certainly improves our mood,” he told reporters. “And I think that is more important at the moment than the result.
“Having regained their self-esteem, the players believe in what they are doing.
“The team worked hard – and yes, we may have got lucky. But sometimes that’s how it goes.
“This was a game for a lot of players to show what they’re made of. I’m very happy with this.
“We all came good. This is such an important win for us.”
