Eufemiano Fuentes has distanced himself from comments he made on Friday, implicating that Real Madrid had owed him 'a debt'.
The doctor, who is currently being investigated as part of Operation Puerto into public health offences in Spain, had claimed that the capital club owed him money.
Los Blancos however, issued a statement on Saturday, revealing that they were filing a lawsuit against Fuentes after his comments.
But the disgraced doctor has back-tracked from his original comments, insisting that the Santiago Bernabeu side were 'confused'.
“If Madrid want to sue me, they can go ahead,” he told reporters. “But I have never treated a Real Madrid player.
“If Madrid understood [what I said] as such, then I think they got confused.
“Madrid has nothing to do with Operation Puerto.
“I am not, nor have I ever been a doctor for Real Madrid, neither directly nor indirectly.
“I have never given a Madrid player as much as an aspirin.”
