Atletico Madrid have confirmed skipper Koke has been released from the squad to face Osasuna this weekend, with his partner expecting to give birth.
According to reports in Marca, the Spanish international requested to be withdrawn from the squad, and manager Diego Simeone has agreed to let him go.
The 27-year old has now left the team hotel to be with his partner Beatriz Espejel, who is expecting their first child.
Koke could still return to the squad, with the game not kicking off until 9pm Spanish time on Sunday night, however Simeone is planning to be without him for the visit of Jagoba Arrasate's side.
Full back Renan Lodi also misses out through injury, after he suffered an ankle problem in the midweek Champions League win over Lokomotiv Moscow, with Diego Costa, Sime Vrsaljko and Vitolo all still sidelined.
