Valladolid duo Andriy Lunin, Javi Sanchez to return to Real Madrid

Real Madrid will recall Andriy Lunin (goalkeeper) and Javi Sanchez from loan stints at Real Valladolid, according to a report in Diario AS.

Neither player has featured in a minute of La Liga action this campaign for Valladolid, who they both joined on season-long loan deals this summer.

The two clubs share a close relationship at boardroom level with Valladolid now owned by former Madrid striker Ronaldo Nazario, who is good friends with Los Blancos president Florentino Perez.

It is said that there is no option in the deals to terminate the agreements early but there is good will from both sides that they do not want any amicable arrangement damaged.

Lunin has yet to play on loan at Real Valladolid as he has not been able to place the club’s number one goalkeeper Jordi Masip.

Furthermore, the Ukrainian – who joined Madrid from Zorya in a €7.5m deal in the summer of 2018 – only started four La Liga games last season at Leganes, where he could not displace Ivan Cuellar.
