Barcelona ‘alarm’ over multiple muscular injuries

Barcelona are alarmed over the number of recurring muscular injuries their players have sustained this season, say Diario AS.

The report cites four players – Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez, Jordi Alba and Ousmane Dembele – as being included in the list of muscular injuries in recent months.

Forward Dembele will miss ten weeks of action with a thigh injury sustained against Borussia Dortmund on Wednesday.

The France international – who has been plagued by injuries since moving to the Camp Nou in the summer of 2017 – pulled up in the 25th minute of the clash against his former club.

Tests have confirmed Dembele has a muscle injury in his right thigh and the 22-year-old is now set to be out for a minimum of two months, and not returning to action until February.

Dembele has played only three full matches for the Spanish champions this season and has had to sit out earlier in the campaign due to a separate thigh injury.

The forward is now set to miss a number of key clashes for Ernesto Valverde’s side – including the upcoming El Clasico against Real Madrid on 18 December.
