Arsenal midfielder Mohammed Elneny linked with Real Betis

La Liga side Real Betis have been linked with a shock move for Arsenal midfielder Mohammed Elneny, according to reports in Estadio Deportivo.

The Egyptian international is curretly on a season-long loan at Turkish side Besiktas, as being made surplus to requirements under former Gunners boss Unai Ermery at the start of the season.

However, the report states that the 27-year old is open to the move, after making only six Super Lig appearances so far this season, and could move in the January transfer window.

With his agent, Sascha Empacher, already reportedly in negotiations with the Andalucian club over the move, as manager Rubi looks to strengthen his midfield options for the second half of the season.

They failed to bring in a midfielder in the summer, after allowing Giovani Lo Celso to join Premier League side Tottenham on loan, and Victor Camarasa join Crystal Palace.

It is not clear, whether Betis would be aiming for a loan move or a permanent deal for the former Basel man, with Arsenal set to demand a fee in the region of €10M.
