Barcelona fight back for vital 2-1 win at Leganes

Barcelona were grateful to second half goals from Luis Suarez and Arturo Vidal as they picked up a 2-1 La Liga win at Leganes.

La Blaugrana have struggled away from the Camp Nou this season, with just two league wins on the road in 2019-20, however three valuable points at the Estadio Butarque keeps them top of La Liga.

Despite currently sitting bottom of the table, Javier Aguirre's side started brightly, and Youssef En-Nesyri handed them a deserved lead on 11 minutes.

With Gerard Pique and Junior Firpo both out of position, the Moroccan international latched onto Roque Mesa's pass, and curled a fantastic effort into the top corner.

Barcelona found it difficult to react from there, with a Suarez header just before the break their best chance of the first half.

Ernesto Valverde's side emerged for the second half in determined mood, with Pique heading a chance off the post just after the restart, as the momentum started to shift.

Suarez made the breakthrough on 53 minutes, glancing a header into the far corner, frm Lionel Messi's whipped free kick.

Barcelona pushed on from there in search of a winning goal, and substitute Vidal provided it with ten minutes to go.

Messi's corner was not properly cleared by the Leganes defence, and the Chilean international reacted first to slam home the loose ball.
