Martin Odegaard: I want Real Madrid to win La Liga

Martin Odegaard is hopeful Real Madrid win La Liga this season and believes he will return to the club in 2021.

The Norway international has starred in the opening months of the campaign for Real Sociedad after joining them on a two-year loan deal from Los Blancos.

He has spent the last two seasons out on loan, at Heerenveen and Vitesse respectively, before joining the Basque club at the start of the season.

It has been said that should the capital club wish to recall Odegaard from his loan spell at the Anoeta, they would have to pay the Basque club a €2m compensation package, although this has since been played down.

Odegaard is set to play in this weekend’s showdown at the Santiago Bernabeu between Madrid and La Real – who sit in fifth position, just two points from the summit of the table.

“I would like Real Madrid to win La Liga this year,” Odegaard told radio show El Larguero on Cadena Ser.

“If I score this Saturday at the Bernabéu against Madrid I will not celebrate it and nor will I celebrate if I score against Real Sociedad in the future.

“You never know in football, but the plan is to stay here (at Real Sociedad) for two years.”
