Paco Lopez renews contract with Levante

Levante boss Paco Lopez has renewed his contract with the club until June 2023.

Sources in Catalan newspaper Mundo Deportivo have confirmed a deal has been agreed, between Lopez and the club, with a clause inserted into the deal that would allow early termination if Levante were relegated from La Liga.

The 52-year old took charge at the Estadio Cituat de Valencia in March 2018, after a season in charge of the club's reserve team, and he steered the club away from relegation following the sacking of Juan Roman Muniz.

He then agreed a one-year deal to remain as manager, with a further year extension clause, which was activated ahead of the 2019-20 campaign.

He racked up back to back 15th place finish in his first two season in charge at the club, and they are currently 12th in the La Liga after impressive wins over Barcelona, Real Sociedad and Leganes.
