Rodrygo Goes ‘living the dream’ at Real Madrid

Real Madrid forward Rodrygo Goes has revealed his delight at Zinedine ZIdane bringing him into the first team squad.

The Brazilian teenager was expected to play a bit part for Los Blancos following his €45M summer move from Santos, but he has already scored his first goal for the club and played in La Liga and Champions League games.

Zidane handed him a first club start in the 1-0 Champions League win over Galatasary, and the 18-year old revealed determined to stay in the Frenchman's plans for the rest of the season.

"I am very happy here at Real Madrid, and for the chance to play in the team.

"Zidane told me go out and enjoy the game, but not to forget about my defensive role.

"When he told me I was starting, I was nervous, but I really enjoyed it.

"I will keep on working hard in training and games, and hopefully that will take me places with Real Madrid."

Rodrygo has already been capped twice for the Brazilian U23 national team, and senior manager Tite has admitted that he is considering full cap for Rodrygo if he can secure a first team role at Real Madrid.

However the competition for places in attack for La Selecao is fierce, with Neymar, Roberto Firmino, Gabriel Jesus, Everton, Richarlison, Gabriel Barbosa and Real Madrid team mate Vinicius Junior ahead of him.
