Man City prioritise Real Sociedad forward Mikel Oyarzabal

Manchester City have identified Real Sociedad forward Mikel Oyarzabal as their main transfer target for next summer, according to reports.

The Spain international has grown into one of the best attacking talents in La Liga and already has four goals to his name this season from nine appearances.

TEAMtalk has an ‘exclusive’ in which they say that City will prioritise the Spain international next summer following a similar report in Calciomercato this month.

Comments from Oyarzabal earlier this month on Cadena Cope may appear to cold water on reports that he will exit the club: “I see myself playing for La Real for many years, I only think of La Real…I feel comfortable, loved and wanted.”

Oyarzabal has hit 25 goals in La Liga across the past two seasons with his impressive level of performances earning him his first cap for the Spanish national side – in the victory over Sweden in June, where he also found the net.

The 22-year-old starred for his nation’s Under-21 side in their European Championships triumph this summer and is widely regarded as one of the brightest prospects in the country.

Oyarzabal was previously linked with a move to City this summer but no move came to fruition and it now appears more likely that he will remain at the Basque club for many years to come.
