POST MATCH: Real Madrid slip to first La Liga defeat of 2019-20

Real Madrid lost their first La Liga game of the season, as they suffered a shock 1-0 defeat away against Real Mallorca.

Manager Zinedine Zidand was forced to make seven changes to the side that beat Granada 4-2 before the international break due to a injuru crisis at the club at the moment.

Mallorca forward Lago Junior made the crucial difference after just seven minutes as he capitalised on some poor defending from the visitors, to cut inside Alvaro Odriozola and fire home.

Zidane's side had plenty of the ball in the first half, but struggled to create clear chances to score, with home keeper Reina only really tested from Casemiro and Isco before the break.

Los Blancos started the second half positively, but again they were unable to really get in behind Mallorca.

Zidane threw on Rodrgo Goes and Brahim Diaz in the closing stages to force a goal, but Mallorca held firm.

Los Blancos' situation was made even worse with ten minutes to go, as Odriozola was sent off for a second yellow card.
