Barcelona will travel to Eibar two days in advance to avoid Catalan chaos

Barcelona will travel to Eibar on Thursday rather than Friday to avoid the growing unrest in Catalonia, report Cadena Cope.

It follows on from a report Diario AS that there was serious consideration to do the 550km journey by bus rather than airplane, but this appears to have been dismissed.

The Blaugrana would normally travel to the Basque country by flying into the city of Bilbao and then travelling the remaining 40km to Eibar by a coach, and it appears this will be the case again for this weekend’s clash.

However, the side are now due to fly out to the Basque region on Thursday rather than Friday to avoid any potential complication with a planned strike in Catalonia on Friday.

It is now reported that the Catalan giants will fly to the northern Basque County on Thursday afternoon and they will hold a training session at the facilities of Alaves, in Vitoria, on Friday.
