Ansu Fati considered for Euro 2020 selection

Spain boss Robert Moreno has confirmed he is considering calling Barcelona forward Ansu Fati up for Euro 2020 duty.

La Roja will seal qualification for the competition with a win away in Norway tonight, and Moreno confirmed ha he is considering a senior call up for the teenage star.

The 16-year old has caught the eye so far this season for Ernesto Valverde's side, with two goals in five La Liga appearances for the Catalan side.

He has been called up to the Spanish U21 side for their Euro 2021 qualifier against Montenegro this week, replacing club team mate Carles Perez – and Moreno is monitoring the situation.

"I am happy that Ansu Fati is with the U21's.

"He has broken through the ranks very quickly, and hopefully he can help the U21's to qualify.

"I am not ruling out the potential that he could play at Euro 2020, as that would be foolish.

"I will keep looking at the situation, but any good player is always welcome in the team."

Fati has yet to make an underage appearance for Spain, after the Guinea-Bissau born attacker was only granted Spanish nationality earlier this month, but he is expected to feature for Luis de la Fuente's side in the coming days.
