Sevilla battle Manchester United for Mexican international Sebastian Cordova

Sevilla and Manchester United are both interested in landing Mexican international Francisco Sebastian Cordova, according to reports.

The 22-year-old won his first international cap earlier this year and has netted three goals in his last seven appearances for his club side America.

Portuguese media outlet A Bola claim Benfica are hopeful of rivalling the interest from the Andalusian club and United in the midfielder, who transfermarkt claim has a market value of €1.2m.

The diminutive midfielder is said to be one of the upcoming stars in his native nation and his fine performances in recent months have attracted the attention of clubs in major European leagues.

The report claims he is an attack-minded midfielder while he helped America to win last season’s Liga MX Apertura and the Clausura 2019 in the Copa MX.

The return of Sevilla sporting director Monchi earlier this year heralded widespread changes in the squad of Los Rojiblancos, with 12 summer arrivals and 15 departures from the first-team squad.
