Zinedine Zidane hails Fede Valverde development

Real Madrid boss Zinedine ZIdane has heaped praise on midfielder Fede Valverde following his role in their 4-2 win at home to Granada.

The Uruguayan international has forced his way into the starting eleven in recent weeks, and his manager was pleased with a solid display alongside Casemiro in midfield.

"Valverde was great today, and I am very pleased for him.

"He is dedicated to improving and he shows that in training and now in games.

"He has played an important role in this game.

"The second goal (for Hazard) was down to his work to get to the ball."

The 21-year old also stated in his post-match interview that he is enjoying life at the Santiago Bernabeu right now, and is confident of a successful season.

"To be a winner, you need to overcome obstacles in football.

"i know that, and that motivates me in what I try and do at Real Madrid.

"I am very happy here.

"I try to train and work as hard as I can.

"The manager is showing that he has faith in me, and that gives me confidence."

Toni Kroos was taken off in the second half against Diego Martinez's side, and is likely to be sidelined for a period, meaning even more game time for Valverde – with Luka Modric only just returning to full fitness and Lucas Vazquez injured.
