Marc Ter Stegen: I was confident of saving Borussia Dortmund penalty

FC Barcelona goal keeper Marc Ter Stegen has said he was always confident of saving a Borussia Dortmund penalty in their Champions League clash.

Ernesto Valverde's side returned to Champions League action with a 0-0 draw away at the Bundesliga side, with the German international turning in a man of match performance for the visitors.

Ter Stegen denied Marco Reus, former FC Barcelona teammate Paco Alcacer and Julian Brandt, as well as saving a second half penalty from national team colleague Reus.

"It is always hard to read Reus from penalties, as he frequently changes what he does.

"But I had a feeling he would go to the left, right before he kicked it, and I guessed correct and made the save.

"Overall we were not very well organised and with the quality Dortmund have it was difficult.

"But I am happy to take a point from this game."

The result was Ter Stegen's first clean sheet of the 2019-20 season, and also his first since FC Barcelona beat Liverpool 3-0 at the Camp Nou in their Champions League semi-final first leg.
