Christian Eriksen draws closer as Paul Pogba moves away from Real Madrid

Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Christian Eriksen in pole position to be at Real Madrid next summer as things stand, report AS.

The Danish midfielder seems to have all the aces to secure his dream move to Real Madrid.

The player, who is out of contract next summer and is free to negotiate with clubs from January onwards, has made no secret of the fact he would love to pull on the famous white jersey of Real Madrid during his career.

Eriksen is currently on a wage of €4 million euros a year net from his 4 year deal and Tottenham are looking to offer him another 4 years – but this time worth €6million euros. Only Captain of the club Harry Kane earns more at €8.8 million annually.

As Eriksen seemingly draws closer, one man who looks to be further away than ever from a move to the Spanish capital is Paul Pogba.

Infact, The Frenchman has been invited to sign a new long term deal with his club Manchester United to put all the rumours and speculation to bed.

The club succesfully fended off interest fom Rewl Madrid this summer and are now looking to commit him to a longer term agreement.

The contract of Pogba's current deal is due to run out in 2021, however, the player does have an option to extend that by a further year.

The report says that Vice President of Manchester United Ed Woodward is stepping up his efforts to successfully re-negotiating a deal with their midfielder. If he succeeds, then that will almost certainly end Real Madrid's interest in Pogba but if not, then they will return to approach him again next summer.
