Barcelona ‘to have called Emerson’ if Nélson Semedo headed to PSG

Barcelona own the Brazilian right back Emerson and thought to bring him to Camp Nou this summer, according to Mundo Deportivo

The report says that Barcelona wanted to cover their backs in case their Portuguese right back Nelson Semedo would have gone to Paris.

And it was Emerson who they identified, contacing Real Betis stating that we will come for the player if Semedo leaves.

The report states that Betis' right back was the only substitute on their list

Both Spanish clubs were in contact on two occasions until the situation became clear that Semedo was staying put in Can Barça.

Emerson – who Barcelona signed in January for €12 million euros on a five year deal – was, then loaned him to Betis for two seasons.

It is an interesting deal for both parties and Juventus were kept in the loop about the Brazilian about his availability until they signed Danilo from Manchester City.

The domino effect in football shown in clear view.
