Barcelona rejected late Lucas Moura deal

Brazilian forward Lucas Moura was identified as a late trasfer target for Barcelona from Tottenham Hotspur according to Mundo Deportivo

They confirm that, in the midst of negotiating the deal to bring Neymar back to the club, Barcelona had the opportunity to sign the 27-year-old winger.

With a deal for the current Paris Saint Germain superstar looking bleak as transfer deadling day ticked on, Barcelona started to search around in search of a plan b  -and saw Moura as a suitable option.

Last season he netted 10 goals in 32 Premier League appearences and scored a famous second half hat-trick in the semi-finals of the Champions League away against Ajax in the deciding leg.

However, the deal fell through when Tottenham, managed by Mauricio Pochettino, put a price tag on the Brazilian of over £50 million euros, which was deemed unfeasable by Barcelona directors, who had already spent big in the summer transfer marking.

The club from Catalonia intended to use their money available in a last minute deal to secure the services of another Braziilian superstar, Neymar, however that deal too in the end was financially impossible.
