Sevilla set for Girona goalkeeper Bono

Sevilla are set to make Girona goalkeeper Bono their 13th signing of the summer transfer window, according to Marca.

It will mean that more than half of the Andalusian club’s first-team squad for this season will be comprised of new summer arrivals at the behest of the return of sporting director Monchi and new Coach Julen Lopetegui.

Bono’s arrival follows directly on from the news that Sergio Rico is joining Paris Saint-Germain on a season-long loan deal from Los Rojiblancos.

Rico made 29 appearances in the Premier League for Fulham last season but was always likely to be second choice to Tomas Vaclik at Los Rojiblancos this campaign.

Bono, whose full name is Yassine Bounou, is a Moroccan international who has spent the entirety of his professional career in Spain.

He began his career at Atletico Madrid before moving to Real Zaragoza, where he spent two campaigns, before joining Girona in 2016.

Bono made 84 appearances for the Catalan club as he helped them to their inaugural promotion to La Liga in 2017 before being their regular number one for their two seasons in the top flight, before relegation this year.
