Sevilla want West Ham striker Javier Hernandez

Sevilla CF are interested in a move for West Ham striker Javier Hernandez before the transfer window closes.

Julen Lopetegui has overseen a squad overhaul this summer, however he is concerned over his lack of forward options, following the departures of Wissam Ben Yedder and Luis Muriel to AS Monaco and Atalanta respectively.

According to reports in Marca, the former Spanish national team boss has no turned his attentions to Mexican international Hernandez – who could be available for a fee in the region of €8M from Manuel Pellegrini's side.

Hernandez is also likely to find his first team opportunities limited at the London Stadium this season, following the summer arrival of Sebastien Haller from Eintracht Frankfurt.

The 31-year old has played in La Liga before, during the 2014-15 campaign, as part of a season-long loan from Manchester United.
