PSG’s Leonardo: No one has matched Neymar’s price

PSG Sporting Director Leonardo is confident that Neymar will remain at the club for the 2019-20 season.

The former Brazilian international has been heavily involved in negotiations to find a buyer for the 28-year old forward, however no deal has been reached, despite reported strong interest from former club FC Barcelona.

Neymar stated during pre-season that he wanted to leave the Ligue 1 champions, and PSG agreed to the move provided his asking price of €200m was met.

"Negotiations are not yet dead, and they can continue in the next few days, Leonardo stated after their win over Metz on August 30.

"However, no agreement has been reached as no club has reached our request of a certain fee.

"We are open to talking about the situation, buit no agreement has been reached.

"The position of the club and Neymar has always been clear, in that if a satisfactory offer was received then he would leave.

"However that has not happened.

"We are setting no time limit other than the transfer window closing on Monday at midnight."

Neymar is yet to play for PSG so far this season, due to a combination of injuries and manager Thomas Tuchel opting to leave him out of the match day squad.
