Real Madrid’s Isco suffers hamstring injury

Real Madrid have been dealt a fresh blow with the news that playmaker Isco has picked up a hamstring injury.

Marca have cited how this is the tenth injury for Madrid since the 2019-20 campaign began 49 days ago with a new fitness trainer, Gregory Dupont.

There has been no officials news on a layoff period for the Spain international, but he is expected to miss between two and three weeks of action.

“After tests on our player Isco today by the Medical Services of Real Madrid, he has been diagnosed with a muscle injury to his right hamstring pending evolution,” read a Madrid statement.

Eden Hazard, Brahim Diaz, Marco Asensio, James Rodriguez and Rodrygo Goes are other attacking talents who have picked up injuries in recent weeks for the club.

Ferland Mendy, Luka Jovic and Thibaut Courtois have also previously been ruled out with injuries before making recoveries.

Isco has a contract at the Santiago Bernabeu until 2021 but found the net just three times in a mere 11 La Liga starts last season, with his future previously reported to be in the balance.
