L’Equipe: PSG’s ‘war’ with Neymar is over

Neymar is set to stay at Paris Saint-Germain for the 2019-20 season, according to source in France.

The Brazilian international declared his intention to the leave the club this summer, with former club FC Barcelona heavily linked with bringing him back to the Camp Nou, however no bid materialised from the Catalan side.

Manager Ernesto Valverde has been reluctant to meet PSG's asking price of €200m, for a player they paid La Blaugrana €222m for in 2017, preferring instead to offer a deal involving cash and Philippe Coutinho.

That was rejected by the Ligue 1 champions, allowing Real Madrid to register an interest in the 28-year old, however they have also not yet made a formal offer to Thomas Tuchel's side.

However, with the transfer window set to close on September 2nd, reports in French daily newspaper L'Equipe claim that Neymar and PSG have been reconciled.

"There is no longer a war between the two parties, according to a L'Equipe source.

"They are speaking civilly again in the last week."

Neymar could be set for his first appearance of the season as PSG host Toulouse on August 25, after recovering from a foot injury picked up on international duty this summer.
