Real Madrid offered Sporting CP star Bruno Fernandes

Sporting CP midfielder Bruno Fernandes has been offered to Real Madrid in a €70m deal, according to Diario AS.

The Portugal international had long been linked with a move to Manchester United or Tottenham Hotspur this summer, but the English transfer window has closed with neither move coming to fruition.

It is claimed by the report that the Lisbon-based giants rejected a €60m offer from Spurs for the midfielder, who has now been offered to Madrid via his agent Jorge Mendes.

Fernandes scored 32 goals in 53 games last season and became the midfielder who scored the most goals in any of the major European leagues, with Sporting subsequently keen to cash on his increased market value.

He is said by the report to be well down Madrid’s list of priority signings and any potential arrival would only be following failed negotiations with other transfer targets on the behalf of Los Blancos.

Fernandes rescinded his contract at the Lisbon-based giants last over a training ground incident with ultras of the club, before renewing his stay.
