Real Betis are determined to finalise a move for Espanyol's Borja Iglesias in the coming days.
According to reports in Mundo Deportivo, manager Rubi will use the money from Junior Firpo's €25m sale to FC Barcelona to fund a move for striker Iglesias, following an impressive 2018-19 campaign.
The 26-year old netted 17 La Liga goals last season, a career high for the former Celta Vigo forward.
Real Betis have been linked with a move for Iglesias throughout the summer, and they now look set to formalise their interest with a bid, with Espanyol demanding that Iglesias' €28m release clause is met.
The Andalucian side are happy to pay the release clause, although they are expected to try an force Real Betis into accepting a fee closer to €25m.
