Takashi Inui leaves Real Betis, returns to Eibar

Eibar have completed the signing of Takashi Inui from Real Betis in a €2m deal, a year after he exited the Basque club.

Los Verdiblancos confirmed the exit of the player on Wednesday with El Desmarque subsequently reporting the transfer fee for the Japan international – who moved to the Seville-based club on a free transfer last season.

“Real Betis Balompié and SD Eibar have reached an agreement for the transfer of the player Takashi Inui,” confirmed the Betis statement.

“The club appreciates the services provided by the Japanese midfielder in the season in which he has belonged to Real Betis and we wish you the best of luck in your future profession.”

After three impressive seasons with Eibar and a strong showing at last summer’s World Cup, the midfielder’s stock was high when joining the Andalusian club on a free transfer, but he only made 14 appearances across all competitions last season.

He subsequently joined Alaves on a loan deal until the end of the campaign but has now returned to Eibar permanently.
