Granada confirm signing of Roberto Soldado

Newly promoted Granada have confirmed the signing of experienced striker and former Spain international Roberto Soldado.

The 34-year-old whose former clubs include Tottenham, Valencia and Villarreal has signed as a free agent following his release from Fenerbahce.

He has penned a one-year contract with the Andalusian club with the option of extending for a further year and he will undergo a medical on Tuesday.

Soldado was reported to have also received an offer from fellow La Liga side Levante, but he has instead opted for Granada – who earned automatic promotion from the second tier this season after two seasons away from the top-flight.

The Valencian-born striker began his career at Real Madrid and enjoyed stints at Osasuna and Getafe before his move to Valencia in 2010, when he rose to stardom in Spanish football.

He his 81 goals across 141 appearances for Los Che while he also won the majority of caps for Spain in this time, hitting seven goals in 12 caps.

He later played for Spurs, Villarreal and Fenerbahce before his return to Spanish football this summer.
