Jonathan Calleri could return to Alaves on loan

Alaves could look to bring Argentinian striker Jonathan Calleri back to the club on a successive season-long loan deal.

Calleri, 25, spent the 2018-19 campaign on loan at the La Liga side from Uruguayan club Deportivo Maldonado, and he netted nine La Liga goals from 33 appearances for Abelardo's side.

Despite not challenging the hotshots of La Liga, he finished the season as Alaves' top scorer, and the Basque club are considering another loan move for the former Boca Juniors forward, according to reports in Marca

Calleri is reportedly open to the move, as his parent club seemingly prefer to generate income from his loan moves away from the club, rather than play him in the first team.

His season at the Estadio Mendizorroza in 2018-19 was his fourth loan spell in as many seasons, having previously spent time at Sao Paolo, West Ham and Las Palmas.
