Getafe sign Jack Harper from Malaga

Getafe have completed the signing of Scottish forward Jack Harper from second tier Malaga, the club have confirmed.

Harper, who was born in Malaga to Scottish parents, has spent the majority of his football career in the Spanish capital and was on Real Madrid’s books for six years.

Los Azulones have reportedly parted with €1.5m to land the forward, who has penned a long-term five-year contract at the Coliseum.

Harper, who also recently spent two years in the youth system at Brighton and Hove Albion in England, netted four goals in 26 appearances for Malaga last campaign.

His outings helped the Andalusian club into the promotion playoffs but they fell at the semi-final stage against Deportivo La Coruna.

Harper, 23, is Getafe’s first summer signing and he is set to compete in the forthcoming Europa League campaign for the club.

Shortly after confirming the deal for Harper, Getafe confirmed the arrival of Raul Garcia, formerly of Leganés, Alavés, Almería and Deportivo de la Coruña ahead of the next campaign.
