Real Madrid’s Alvaro Tejero set for Eibar move

Eibar are optimistic about completing the signing of Real Madrid full-back Alvaro Tejero on a permanent deal worth €3m, report Marca.

The 22-year-old has spent the last season on loan at Albacete in the second tier where he made 41 starts as the club fell just short of promotion as they were defeated in the playoffs this month.

Tejero has played in La Liga for just two minutes for Madrid – appearing as a late substitute in the 6-2 win at Deportivo La Coruna in the 2016-17 campaign.

Four of his five appearances for Los Blancos have come in the Copa del Rey but it now looks certain he will leave the club permanently to join the Basque side.

The report adds that Eibar see this transfer as a similar chance to field a talented young player at a minimal price as when they landed Marc Cucurella from Barcelona.

Getafe are also said to hold an interest in a move for the Spanish defender but Eibar have moved ahead in the race.
