FC Barcelona could make a move for highly rated Real Sociedad striker Mikel Oyarzabal this summer.
According to reports in Catalan newspaper Diario Sport, the La Liga winners have been monitoring his progress over the past twelve months and are now considering a bid for the 22-year old.
He netted 14 goals in all competitions for Imanol Alguacil's side in 2018-19, primarily playing out wide, and scored his first senior goal for Spain in the 3-0 win over Sweden at the Santiago Bernabeu on June 10.
Ernesto Valverde's side have been linked with a number of La Liga front men in recent weeks, with rumours of bids for Valencia CF striker Rodrigo Moreno and a reigniting of interest in veteran forward Cristhian Stuani, of Girona CF, as they look for cover for Luis Suarez.
However, Oyarzabal represents a younger option than Stuani and could be available for cheaper than Rodrigo – who is also interesting Serie A side AS Roma.
Sport claim that Oyarzabal's release clause of €70m at the Anoeta could be a stumbling block, but if Valverde is willing to do a player-plus-cash deal for one of his fringe players a deal could be struck.
