Mikell Oyarzabal: First international goal is a dream come true

Real Sociedad striker Mikel Oyarzabal was delighted with his first ever international goal for Spain.

Oyarzabal, 22, came off the bench in La Roja's 3-0 win over Sweden – their fourth consecutive UEFA Euro 2020 qualifying win – in his first ever competitive appearance for the senior team.

The Basque forward has impressed with 14 goals for La Real in 2018-19 this season, and he is hopeful of becoming a regular in Luis Enrique's plans in future.

"To play is fantastic, and to get my first goal, even more so.

"The squad have made me feel very welcome right from the start and I am really happy.

"Hopefully I can keep performing and return to the squad in September."

Oyarzabal will now join fellow squad member Fabian Ruiz in linking up with Luis de la Fuente's U21 squad for the 2019 UEFA U21 European Championships in Italy and San Marino.
