Real Madrid striker Borja Mayoral set for Real Sociedad

Real Sociedad are in advanced negotiations to sign striker Borja Mayoral from Real Madrid, according to a report in Marca.

The 22-year-old is currently on loan with Levante but he has netted just three goals across 29 appearances in La Liga this campaign.

Local media outlet Noticias de Gipuzkoa first reported in the interest in the former Spain Under-21 striker, with a move now appearing to be closer to fruition.

Mayoral has previously spent a season on loan at German club Wolfsburg but has scored a total of just eight league goals across the past three campaigns.

It is also claimed that La Real are closing in on a deal for Athletic Club goalkeeper Alex Remiro, who has not featured in the Spanish top-flight last season after spending last season on loan at Huesca.

French defender Modibo Sagnan is also set to be incorporated into the first-team squad in San Sebastian next season, having signed from Lens in a €5m deal in January.

The 20-year-old defender, of Malian descent, was immediately loaned back to Lens for the remainder of the current campaign.
