Atletico Madrid will look to sign Inter striker Mauro Icardi this summer should either Antoine Griezmann or Diego Costa leave, say Diario AS.
The 25-year-old is one of Europe’s elite goal scorers and has 16 goals for the campaign despite falling out of favour with the club’s hierarchy amid uncertainty surrounding his future.
The report claims that Costa is likely to be sold this summer should a lucrative offer come in for the striker – who has struggled for form and fitness over the past 12 months – from the Chinese Super League.
The striker was stripped of the Nerazzurri captaincy earlier this year and did not featured in the first team for six weeks, before being restored to action this month.
Icardi previously was in the youth ranks of Barcelona when he moved to Italy, where he played for Sampdoria between 2011 and 2013, before joining Inter.
Napoli forward Lorenzo Insigne and Eintracht Frankfurt’s Luka Jovic have also been linked to Atleti.
