Leganes want to extend Andriy Lunin deal from Real Madrid

Leganes would like to extend their loan deal of Real Madrid goalkeeper Andriy Lunin beyond the current season, report Marca.

Earlier this week Marca also reported that Madrid wanted the Ukrainian to return to the club following the departure of Kiko Casilla to Leeds United.

Lunin has started just one La Liga game at Butarque this season and has failed to dislodge the club’s first choice goalkeeper Ivan Cuellar.

The goalkeeper joined Los Blancos in an €8m deal from Zorya, to now return to their fold to provide back-up but Leganes hold the power in such a move.

Last month a report in Diario AS stated the 19-year-old was happy at Leganes and had no intention of cutting short his season-long loan stay.

He is said to have a strong working relationship with Lega goalkeeping coach Joseba Ituarte and would prefer to fight for an attainable first-team place.
