Real Madrid want return for Leganes goalkeeper Andriy Lunin

Real Madrid want goalkeeper Andriy Lunin, currently on loan at Leganes, to return to the club this month following Kiko Casilla’s move to Leeds United.

Casilla is set to join the English Championship leaders this month, while Lunin has started just one La Liga game at Butarque this season and has failed to dislodge the club’s first choice goalkeeper Ivan Cuellar.

Marca now report Madrid want the Ukranian shot-stopper, who joined the club last summer in an €8m deal from Zorya, to now return to their fold to provide back-up but Leganes hold the power in such a move.

However, last month a contrasting report in Diario AS stated the 19-year-old was happy at Leganes and had no intention of cutting short his season-long loan stay.

He is said to have a strong working relationship with Lega goalkeeping coach Joseba Ituarte and would prefer to fight for an attainable first-team place.
