Rafinha could miss the rest of the season after Barcelona confirmed the midfielder had damaged knee ligaments.
Rafinha appeared as a second-half substitute during Barca’s 1-1 draw with Atletico Madrid on Saturday, but his club announced less than 24 hours later that he ‘ruptured the ACL in his left knee’ and will undergo surgery next week.
The Brazilian has previous after sitting out most of the 2015-16 campaign with a similar setback, although he injured his right knee on that occasion.
The 25-year-old only returned to Camp Nou over the summer after he spent the second half of last season at Inter.
