Julen Lopetegui has played down reports that Mateo Kovacic and Luka Modric will leave Real Madrid in this summer transfer window.
The Croatian duo have both been linked with exits – Kovacic is reportedly in ‘rebellion’ while Modric has been linked with Inter – but the new Madrid Coach has quelled reports.
“I have not seen anything from Kovacic that corresponds to the description of rebellion,” Lopetegui is cited as saying by Diario AS.
“He has been training like normal with his teammates, I have not see any issue with this and he is a player who I am extremely happy to have with the group.
“Modric? The president (Florentino Perez) has already spoken clearly about this – at Madrid we have no doubt that he will continue with us.
“New signings? The club are working on possibilities, but this is a private matter, and I have already told you all how happy I am with the players already at the club.”
