Barcelona have reportedly chosen Brazilian starlet Luan to be their fourth attacker next season.
According to Sport, technical secretary Robert Fernandez watched Luan in action for Brazil’s Olympic team against South Africa and Iraq, both of which ended goalless.
Consequently, Robert has been able to meet with the 23-year-old’s representatives and begin laying the groundwork for an agreement, which “will” be struck this week.
Luan is said to have already given his approval to the transfer and told his camp to prioritise talks with La Blaugrana, despite interest from the Premier League, Bundesliga and Serie A and better chances of first-team football elsewhere.
The Gremio forward is expected to start Brazil’s next game, with Neymar, Gabriel Jesus and Gabriel Barbosa yet to find the back of the net in Rio.
Luis Enrique, meanwhile, has escalated the signing of an ‘MSN’ deputy to Barca’s hierarchy following Saturday’s 4-0 defeat to Liverpool.
