German Burgos has revealed that Atletico Madrid are 'just waiting for confirmation' before they can announce Fernando Torres' arrival.
The Milan loanee is expected to return to the Spanish champions after seven years away from the club, and the assistant Coach is confident that the striker will be able to rediscover his best form at the Vicente Calderon.
"We're on the verge of closing the deal and just waiting for confirmation," he said after a charity match at Estadio Fernando Torres in Fuenlabrada today.
"He'll be be a very important reinforcement for the second half of the season. We'll get the best out of him, as we do for every player. He knows where he's coming to."
Burgos, a former Argentina goalkeeper, and Torres were Atleti teammates between 2001 and 2004.
